The Dartmoor Folk Festival is a friendly traditional festival, with highlights including Ceilidh, Song & Music Sessions, Dartmoor Stepdance and Broomdance Championships, Dartmoor Fayre, Craft Displays, Dances, Music Hall, Sunday Ramble, Folk Service, Pub Sessions & Children’s Events.PLUS - Craft tent, Sideshows, Demonstrations, Dance Displays, Children’s Entertainers and much more…The festival continues to attract some of the top national and local artists as guests, maintaining its reputation as one of the top events in the folk calendar. Camping is available in fields close to the festival site, with events taking place in the nearby village hall and playing fields.

This is to allow us a bit of extra time for Sound Checking.

The Milkmaid Music Club meets on the first and third Friday of the month (with some exceptions) at The Constitutional Club in Bury St Edmunds. As well as hosting top name acts from the international folk world, local musicians and singers are encouraged to take part in Open Mic/Singers nights.

This gives the club an opportunity to pick support acts for the main concerts.
So whether you are a fan of good folk music or a budding musician wanting to showcase your talent, The Milkmaid Music Club is the place for you!

The Weekend is a yearly meeting of musicians, and interested audience, who spend the time playing and singing the tunes and songs of England, and sharing their latest enthusiasms, researches, and tunes. It is not a festival in the normal sense: there are no concerts (though interested audience are very welcome), and although there is (obviously!) a real-ale bar, on-site catering and a handful of specialist stalls and displays, this is at heart an extended session.
