Walthamstow Folk Club

Ye Olde Rose & Crown Theatre Pub, 53 Hoe Street , Walthamstow London E17 4SA

Essex based Mawkin have been one of the most exciting bands in folk music since they emerged over fifteen years ago.

Sadly the lads have decided to call it a day, but we couldn't let them go without saying goodbye so we are proud to announce that the lads will be coming to see us one last time on Wednesday 13th March.

It's always a blistering evening when Mawkin are in town.

Upstairs at our usual venue.

Tickets are £10 in advance or £12 on the door.

Gig starts at 8pm.

Join us at The Atkinson for the little festival with the big heart and spend the most romantic weekend of the year dancing, singing, drinking, eating and generally loving folk!

This year we have a double headliner on Friday; Martin & Eliza Carthy + Faustus! We look forward to fantastic concerts in our performance spaces as well as the return of the free Busk Love Folk stage on the Saturday in the foyer.

Folk Prostate Cancer Benefit Gig

Penistone Paramount, , Shrewsbury Road, Penistone

The most recent figures from Prostate Cancer UK infographics state that 1 in 8 men will get Prostate Cancer in their life, 47,000 men are diagnosed across the UK every year. These figures are staggering and we can all do a bit to help bring the numbers down. I've created our very own #FolkProstateCancer so I urge people to get tweeting, facebooking and on their social medias and remember to include the hashtag."
